Project: Hypothetical book cover illustration and typography for Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir.
Concept: The book's unofficial tagline is "Lesbian Necromancers in Space" and it deals heavily with themes of death and grief. The setting of the book is a magical, medieval version of our solar system. I wanted to capture the medieval visuals, the celestial setting, and the necromantic magic, as well a bit of the main character's personality.
